Shoutout to Velociriffer
If you like gnarly metal riffs, pop culture icons such as Rambo and Power Rangers, or Aztec death whistles; you will love Velociriffer. This 4 piece band is a staple of the Pueblo metal scene, and they blend comedy with their own flavor of “dinosaur” metal to put on a great show. They are a pillar of the Pueblo metal crowd for a reason, and they have been playing shows all across the I-25 metal scene. They have made a name for themselves by playing Pueblo DIY venues such as the CR23 Bombshelter and the Blo Back Gallery. Velociriffer has even brought their high energy shows all the way to the 5280.
The two seasoned guitarists (Tyler Drury and Alex Jefferson), are always playing meaty riffs and licks. There are some seriously catchy riffs on their hit songs Hunter or Power Rangers; but the band is not afraid to slow the tempo down a bit, for tracks such as The Godz Will Fall (Asses) or The Thing. These zesty riffs are accompanied by some tasteful drumming coming from Bill Elenga behind the kit; with enough primal energy to get the pit moshing like it’s an ancient battleground. All of this is topped off by some rumbling bass guitar from frontman Diego Rodriguez; known for his lively energy, crunchy vocals, and a fashion sense that makes WWF wrestlers proud.
The members of Velociriffer are active members of the Pueblo metal scene and greater Colorado metal scene. The band is very supportive of Colorado artists, to provide art for their singles such as Power Rangers (Joy Martinez -@Canislupus000 ), and album art for their debut record Jur-ass-ic Beer (Nate Russell - @nrdoggy ). Many of the members of Velociriffer are also working hard on other projects. Alex has been behind the bass for Sonic Vomit for a good bit now. Also worth mentioning, is Beneath The Floorboards which is a more serious band that shares many members with Velociriffer.
